BANK HOLIDAY GAME OF SOLIDARITY ANNOUNCED BY MILLERS!
Carlton Town will be hosting a very special match at Stoke Lane on Sunday 1st May when Trident Fc will be playing against Greyfriars to raise money for the people of Ukraine who are undergoing an horrendous bombardment of their country at the moment from Russia.
Many are without food and water and the situation is shocking and Carlton are determined to do their bit to try and help in any way they can.
Chairman Mick Garton and Commercial Manager Gary Clarke started working on helping Ukraine at the recent Millers fundraiser with John O Hare and raised £500 towards food parcels but we understand a significant amount of that money was needed for fuel to ferry items to the Polish border.
Trident will represent the Ukraine community and Greyfriars the Republic of Ireland community for the game which is expected to have a 2pm kick off.
Players taking part are expected to pay to play, donations will be sought on the gate and a raffle will be held before further fundraising at a follow up event at the Greyfriars Social Club in the evening. The details are still being worked on and a meeting is scheduled for next week.
Anyone wishing to get involved by way of donating money or a prize for the ‘game of solidarity or by sponsoring the match, Matchball or Mascots on the day should contact Boatsy on 07907 064189.
The Carlton Commercial manager is a busy fellow at the moment with his son’s fantastic goal in Sunday’s cup game for Gedling Southbank going viral, with unprecedented media coverage and Race Day tickets going on sale , but rest assured, he will be delighted to hear from you to support something everyone at Carlton Town feels very strongly about, the awful events unfolding daily in Ukraine are shocking indeed and the club hopes that everyone can support this forthcoming event at Stoke Lane.
