AWAY TRIP YET AGAIN FOR THE MILLERS, QUIZ NIGHT MOVED AGAIN AND COACH TIMES FOR SATURDAY
Carlton Town waited in anticipation for the 1pm Fa Trophy draw, hoping for at least one home game in the month of September, but once again the Millers have been drawn away from home.
It means another trip to Coleshill on Saturday 21st September, whom the Millers defeated last season in the same competition when Alex Hardwick made a memorable debut.
The Millers were made very welcome 12 months ago and particularly enjoyed the curry offerings we understand and will look forward to the trip, but pressure on pockets for supporters is always extra when the Millers have an away trip and in September they have 4 of them with no home games, the luck of the draw we suppose and other clubs will undoubtedly be in the same boat.
It means Carlton’s home clash with Ashington will have to be rescheduled .
Carlton’s excellent cup results mean there has today been another casualty, the clubs quiz night kindly put on by the William Gunn pub on Radcliffe Road in West Bridgford.
Carlton Chairman Mick Garton called in today to personally apologise to Tom Holodynsky, director at Great Northern Inns who had allready agreed to move the night from the 1st October to the 15th October.
Carlton were given a fixture on the 1st October and have now been given another one on Tuesday 15th October away at Bradford Park Avenue.
After going through the diary with Mick, it was concluded that if the night remained on a Tuesday, the same could happen again, so Tom has kindly agreed to move it to the Wednesday for the club and it will now take place on Wednesday 16th October from 7pm at the William Gunn.
”We really appreciate what Tom and Owen are doing to help the club, so i made a point of calling in to apologise and try and sort a new date again”
”Given their Brillant flexibility, I really hope we get a good turn out again for this” said the Millers Chairman.
”On the cup draw, we were hoping for a home tie, particularly given the amount of travelling we have to do anyway in our league, but as Wally commented earlier, we must have an astrix at the side of our name, that says must be drawn away” said the Millers Chairman with a wry smile.
Talking of away games, the Millers are away this Saturday in the Fa Cup facing one of their toughest ever challenges when they face step 2 Leamington Fc and Coach travel with the players and Management is available at just £15.
The Coach will leave Stoke Lane at 11am and Millers Barn at 11.30am and seats can be booked by contacting Boatsy on 07907 064189
