ATTENTION TURNS TO FOREST CLASH AFTER LAST MINUTE BLAKE WINNER AT STOKE LANE!
Carlton Town made it two fantastic home wins back to back to give themselves an increased outside chance of reaching the playoffs, with just 3 games to go.
Belper remain favourites with a 4 point gap, but Carlton delivered on the big stage for the second game against teams above them, goals from Arron O’Connor and substitute Tyler Blake in the 90th minute got Carlton over the line 2-1.
Carlton play Cambridge away next Saturday, before a home game Easter Monday against Spalding before a difficult last match encounter away at high flying Stamford.
It is still in Belper’s hands, but the pressure will be increased after Saturday’s result, with Halsowen a tough home game next up, before an away trip Easter Monday to Loughborough Dynamos , while Corby visit Belper on April 23rd for their last League game of the campaign.
Attention now turns to Tuesday night when Nottingham Forest under 23s are the visitors to Stoke Lane for the Semi Final of the Nottinghamshire Senior cup.
The Special guest is Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell who will be interviewed in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar at around 7pm by Millers Chairman Mick Garton and a special mention and Thankyou to Mick Greenwood and Greenwood Cooling who have taken up Boatsy’s new Guest Speaker package.
Tickets for the clash went on general sale on March 28th , but spectators can still pay on the gate on the night with admission prices at only £7 Adults, £5 Concessions, £2 Children.
Proper Football will be making their first appearance at Stoke Lane and be covering the game on the night and the remaining 50/50 scarves will be on sale, but we understand not too many remain.
Joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks spoke to the NPL Show prior to the game about the Belper and Nottingham Forest clash and the show can be listened to below.
Tommy’s excellent interview kicks in soon after the 40th minute of the show and Belper Town’s Manager Grant Black is also interviewed straight after Tommy.
