ALL THE FALL OUT FROM THE SATURDAY AT STOKE LANE THAT WAS
Well the dust has settled overnight on a cracking afternoon, both on and off the pitch at Stoke Lane and the Millers move up to 7th in the league with 24 points from the first 12 games of the season.
Matt Millns, one of the two special guests looked at the league table in his Matchday Programme and could not believe, some of the grounds Carlton now visited in their move over to the East League.
Other feedback from the afternoon came from Brighouse supporters who told the Millers Chairman how impressed they were with the entertainment in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar before the game, saying it was something they would like to see at their club.
As well and brilliant DJ Dan, the Millers were showing Notts County v Bradford in the bar and had top international cricket umpire David Millns as their pre match guest speaker, both Matt and David were delighted to see the Millers win and joined spectators, the management team and players in the bar after the game and are pictured outside the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar.
The real big news on the day however was a Brillant hatrick for skipper Niall Davie and just to be the icing on the cake for the Davie Clan, Andrew Davie then won the £200 prize in the Supporters run 200 club.
It was also good on the day to see former Notts County talent back on the pitch with Greg Tempest back in the Millers squad and then himself winning £100 in the 200 club draw.
Carlton are in action again on Tuesday in what promises to be one of the games of the season when Stockton Town are the visitors to Stoke Lane. They had an unbelievable win on Saturday defeating Belper Town 7-1, Stockton move up to the top of the table after that remarkable win and Belper drop to third. Another notable win was Ashington travelling to North Ferriby and beating them 5-0.
Ashington were featured in an excellent full page article in the Daily Mail on Thursday in which Carlton got a brief mention, that too was some result.
That result moves Ashington up to 9th and North Ferriby are now 5th. The other teams above the Millers are Hebburn Town who are second, Consett who are 4th and Pontefract who are 7th.
Finally it was revealed last night that Shay Thompson-Harris was in hospital and awaiting test results after an accidental clash towards the end of the Brighouse fixture. Tommy Brookbanks thanked the medical staff from both clubs for the excellent response to the situation.and we will put out further news, hopefully positive news when we get an update later.
The build up to Tuesday night will follow in due course.
