A WILD 24 HOURS AT STOKE LANE ENDS WITH NARROW VICTORY FOR THE MILLERS
It’s fair to say that was the weekend that was at Stoke Lane, it had everything!
An incredible Firework Extravaganza on Friday night that continues to maintain the standards each and every year, particularly because of the standard of the Big Bang display.
The added bonus of Leicester v Nottingham Forest in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar and Dj Sanj Beri on top form meant many stayed well after the Fireworks had disappeared into the night sky.
The club would like to place on record to all the volunteers, a big thankyou for all their help in making the evening such a success once again.
Massive Credit to new bar supervisor Pascoe who is proving a very popular appointment, he was back on the scene Saturday morning to start the big clean up and worked his socks off along with his team.
This website reported that we had a full house of sponsors on Saturday and they were all on fine form and there was a cracking atmosphere in the stadium starting with the Chairman interviewing special guest John o’ Hare who was excellent once again.
The bit in the middle saw the Millers beat Heaton Stannington 2-1 with goals from Niall Hylton and Ollie Clark, Joseph Thompson replied for the visitors who will feel they deserved at least a point from proceedings, a bit like the Millers felt on Tuesday after going down 2-1 to Belper Town.
A special mention for Felix who made a wonderful late save to ensure the points for the Millers and for another crowd of over 200, there were 215 inside the Bill Stokeld Staduim for this clash.
As well as club ambassador Ian Storey-Moore and Guest speaker John O’Hare, both Nottingham Forest club legends of course, there was another Forest hero in the ground as current midfield sensation Elliot Anderson came down to Stoke Lane to watch his brother Louis Anderson who was playing for Heaton Stannington, we were informed by the opposition supporters.
Elliot kindly posed for photos with supporters at half time and made a few people’s day including the Miller Mouse.
Oliver Clark was presented with the man of the match by Adam Thomas whose mum Collette kindly sponsored the game on behalf of Gregory House 2. (cover picture)
The final act of the afternoon fell to the beloved Alistar to provide after match entertainment, he was on brillant form for Carlton Town Tv.
Lots of footage from Carlton Town for you now featuring, Mark Harvey, Ollie Clark and Alistar and his wonderful trumpet, sorry cornet !
