A POINT AT SHEFFIELD AND A GOOD TURNOUT FOR BOOK LAUNCH AT STOKE LANE!
The weekend started with The Millers taking an excellent away following to Sheffield and finished with a packed Clubhouse supporting Boatsy and Paul Lowe’s book launch on Sunday afternoon.
Carlton shared the points in a 0-0 draw at Sheffield, but with the hosts having their goalkeeper sent off in the first half, Carlton will be disappointed not to have gone on and claimed the three points, but couldn’t get that vital goal and with teams in and around The Millers pretty much all winning their games on Saturday, it leave’s Carlton in even deeper trouble. The one positive for Carlton was a clean sheet and attention now turns to next Saturday when high flying Hebburn are the visitors to Stoke Lane 3pm.
On Sunday over 100 people turned up at the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar to support the Launch of “Angels with Dirty Faces” and that included Nottingham Forest Legend Ian Storey-Moore and Forest Chairman Nick Randall KC, along with hugely popular and talented Nottinghamshire Cricketer Luke Fletcher. There was a cracking atmosphere in the Clubhouse throughout the afternoon as people came and went and Millers Chairman Mick Garton interviewed the two authors for the audience and Carlton Town Tv and that interview can be clicked on below.
Both Boatsy and Paul have asked us to thank everyone who helped on the day including in particular, Kelly who helped with club fund raising and hosted Sticky 13 and Dan who was on DJ duty for the guys throughout the afternoon, the bar and catering team ,along with all those who came and a special mention from those who travelled from the likes of London, Birmingham, Cambridge and Dorking for the event and to Mark Flint and Oakfield Construction for sponsoring the book.
Carlton tend do events particularly well and this book launch was no exception. For those still wanting a signed copy who could not attend, contact Boatsy on 07907 064189 or visit Msr Branches at either Angel Row Nottingham , Front Street Arnold or Radcliffe Road West Bridgford.
