GOOD AWAY POINT FOR THE MILLERS AND LIGHTS SWITCH ON FOR TOMMY AND SIR CLIFF !
Carlton secured a clean sheet and a point away to Bedworth United, a team with an excellent home record and although the managers would obviously have liked all 3, it was a decent result coming on the back of the 2-1 defeat to Sporting Khalsa.
To put Carlton’s defeat in midweek into perspective, Sporting Khalsa beat league leaders Ilkeston Town 4-2 showing they are a decent team indeed.
Chasetown beat Belper Town 2-0 to strengthen their promotion credentials while Halesowen went down 2-1 to Shepshed Dynamo who are Carlton’s opponents next Saturday.
Soham Town Rangers continue to improve and held high flying Stamford to a 2-2 draw, while Coleshill had a fine 4-3 win at Cambridge City.
Carlton are 7th, just a point outside the playoff zone , but have played a game more than the teams directly above them.
Joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks was in fine form last night at the Cliff Richard event and led Sir Cliff to turn on the Carlton Town Christmas lights.
Brookbanks was joined by his beautiful wife Tina along with Chairman Mick Garton, Boatsy and a very special guest who had flown in from Spain to witness the incredible event, club legend Ian White was in the house.
Tommy introduced new signing Stan (pictured) to the crowd before an emotional Sir Cliff did the deed.
The link below, not only shows the interview with Sir Cliff prior to his set, but also the light switch on brilliantly orchestrated by Tommy Brookbanks!
