5K RAISED FOR BRAIN RESEARCH UK IN CRACKING AFTERNOON AT STOKE LANE!
On Sunday 28th July, the sun came out and so did the crowds to Stoke Lane and in particular from the Italian community in memory of the hugely popular Nino Ciaurro.
It really was a wonderful atmosphere at the Bill Stokeld Stadium as the Millers made their facilities available for Lewis Hampshire and friends to raise money for Brain Research Uk.
Millers Chairman Mick Garton told us, “ I have known Lewis for a few years and actually went to school with his dad Michael and we are delighted we could help with this fantastic event and cause”
“When Lewis messaged me to tell me they had raised £5,023, i was absolutely delighted, i am aware how much work must have gone into organising the events around the game such as the amazing raffle, dancers and cakes etc and to get an excellent turnout was brilliant”
“As well as congratulating Lewis and his friends, I would like to place on record my thanks to the volunteers from Carlton Town who turned up on the day to help with the event”
”As I have said before, we take our role in the local community very seriously and to help stage this and other events in 2024 make me and my colleagues at Carlton Town very proud, well done to everyone involved”
For the record, the Italians beat a rest of the world side in the entertaining match and Lewis Hampshire is pictured with the Millers Chairman after the final whistle.
