Promotion Confirmed

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton today wished Danny Gordon (pictured) and Kyle Stovell all the very best after it was revealed they had both left the club this weekend.

"Danny has been brilliant for us over 2 and half years and played a massive part in our Senior Cup success last season, he also has a player of the year award to his name and I genuinely wish him all the best"

"Kyle has been unable to get a sustained run in the side this season but I believe he will score goals where ever he goes, it is just a case of if he forfills his potential or not"

"Sadly during the course of each season, our manager can only put 11 starting bodies on the pitch and like in eras of both Tommy Brookbanks and Les Mcjannet, people who we love and cherish move on and new stars come and fill their shoes and we get behind whoever is wearing the shirt, that is the reality and a massive part and parcel of football"

"Dannys wonderful free kicks will live in the memory and the way he dragged us through that Cup match with Sherwood last year will never be forgotten, while Kyles Academy goals and his goal at Lincoln United this season while down to 10 men will also long be remembered "

"We were all frustrated on Saturday when the match got called off but Wayne tells me the pitch was playable at 11am before the rain intensified and although he thought than when the referee inspected it still had a reasonable chance of going ahead, the subsequent heavier rain and snow afterwards meant the match officials made the right decision with hindsight according to our manager which is fair enough" concluded Garton.

Carlton are hopefully back in action on Saturday when they visit Loughborough Dynamo.
