HUTCHINSON GOAL ON DEBUT BUT DEFEAT AGAIN FOR MILLERS!

Promotion Confirmed

POOR FIRST HALF COSTS CARLTON!

Carlton Towns recent disappointing run continued with a 4-2 home defeat to Playoff chasing Chasetown.

Carlton Town were delighted to have secured the services of striker Ben Hutchinson from Belper Town prior to kick off and he scored a penalty to level for Carlton after the away side had took a deserved lead after dominating the early exchanges.

Its no secret Hutchinson has played at a decent level indeed, including for Scottish giants  Celtic and Carlton will be hoping he can bring goals to the table but Carlton also have to tighten up at the back.

Whieldon added a second and Nduna a third after a mix up between centre half Jake Carlisle and goalkeeper Jack Steggles.

Steggles may have let 3 goals in but had been outstanding with several wonderful saves to keep Carlton in contention.

Carlton had been poor in the first half and it was no surprise when manager Wayne Scott introduced Danny Elliot and Aaron Hooton in the second half.

The improvement was instant and Carlton gained a lifeline when Hooton was upended in the box and stepped up to score the resulting penalty to make it 2-3.

Carlton powered forward in search of an equaliser with the contest now feisty in the extreme and with a referee who in fairness was determined to keep cards at a minimum and try and let things flow the best he could.

Chasetown put the game to bed with a late 4th and the Chasetown supporters on an early Christmas outing celebrated in style with an array of songs in the Clubhouse Sportsbar.

Dave Hodgson was a disappointed supporter, but he turned on Christmas channel 308, got up and danced , maybe it was his way of coping with Carltons third defeat on the bounce, maybe he was just looking forward to next Fridays Christmas Luncheon, but either way he was a winner and along with Jack Steggles, he could leave the Bill Stokeld Stadium with his head held high, if Carlton are to get their season back on track, one or two more players need to step up to the plate, it had been a disappointing afternoon!
