It had been a strange and difficult week at Stoke Lane, Sunday saw the club pull together and raise a substantial amount of money for Brahima Ceesays family following the youngsters tragic death at just 18 years of age.

Monday brought more tragic news with the death of Paul Shelton sadly announced, leaving many at the club devastated and unable in many cases to comprehend the loss of someone who was so crucial to the fabric of this community football club.

Saturday came round and football was back in peoples thoughts as Shelts would have wanted it to be, but the result sadly followed a familiar recent path with Carlton losing by the odd goal in 3 after Kaylum Mitchell had given the visitors the lead in front of 213 at Belper.

Carlton slip to 19th and face another tough game on Wednesday when 3rd placed Frickley Athletic are the visitors to Stoke Lane.

A cheque will be presented to Brahimas family and the club will be hoping they can put some points on the table in their first home game since Shelts passed away, kick off is at 7.45pm.
