MILLERS HEAD TO BELPER WITH A NEW SIGNING

Promotion Confirmed

RIECE ON BOARD AS MILLERS FACE UP TO FIRST GAME WITHOUT SHELTS!

Carlton Town have completed the signing of Riece Bertram from Basford United ahead of what will be an emotional few days for The Millers as they embark on moving forward without Paul Shelton who died this week after 40 years at the club.

Messages of condolence are still pouring into Carlton nearly a week after Pauls tragic death at just 60 years old from supporters, former players and coaching staff and senior staff at the club have been moved by the response to his sad death.

On the football side, Carlton have two games in the next week, away at Belper Town on Saturday and at home to Frickley next Wednesday and Reice who is a combative and talented midfielder has signed after failing to break into the Basford side recently following their fantastic start to the season.

The best compliment that could be paid to Riece was a comment from Carltons midfielder Danny Elliot who said he was relieved when he saw Riece had been left out of Basfords Cup Final starting line up, a game which Carlton went onto win 4-1 in a triumphant night at Meadow Lane.

Basford have well and truly put that night behind them and lie second in Evostick Division One South, as well as having a great run in the Fa Cup after an unbeaten start in both competitions.

Carlton meanwhile will be hoping Riece can help Carlton get back on the points trail after a Barron spell which followed an excellent start to the season.
