Promotion Confirmed

After losing 1-0 to mid-table side Kidsgrove Athletic at Stoke Lane last Saturday, Wayne Scotts side will have a two-week break before welcoming Leek Town to Gedling.

The Millers have a poor record against Leek, winning just a single game in the last 8 meetings between the two sides, and the Blues are in good form this season having picked up ten points from four games.

Although, unlike the Millers, Leek face four games in eleven days, playing Stocksbridge Park, Spalding United, Kidsgrove Athletic and finally heading to Carlton Town.

Saturdays game was disappointing for all involved, as Carlton simply didn’t turn up for the fixture. Hooton and Oldham came closest for the hosts, but it was Kidsgrove who were clinical and returned north will all three points. Carlton suffered from a 61st minute John Beaumont goal after a poor defensive spell, leaving them with ten points from seven game, but with a two week break to reflect on their opening games.

Its been enjoyable writing these reports, but I am away for around a month as another opportunity has come up - but only short-term. I look forward to coming back in mid-October and, hopefully, seeing the Millers on top of the table!
