Promotion Confirmed

It was a frustrating afternoon indeed for Wayne Scotts Millers who never really got going this afternoon and went down to their first home defeat of the season and their second 1-0 defeat inside a week.

It was a game lacking in quality and Carlton failed to play the attractive football they have done so far this season, particularly at home and in fairness never looked like scoring after Beaumont had given Kidsgrove a second half lead after Carlton failed to deal with a free kick into the box.

Neither keeper was particularly called on in what was a poor game but Kidsgrove will go home happy with their first 3 points of the season while Carlton manager Wayne Scott was left frustrated as his team missed an opportunity to cement a place towards the top of the table.

On a positive note, Carlton have put a collection bucket on the bar ahead of the memorial game for Brahima Ceesays family which was also taken pitch side during the game and in the 2 games since that was organised, the club have raised donations of over £100 towards the memorial fund.

Carlton Towns under 18 Player Brahima (pictured) sadly died of a heart attack recently and the memorial game is on Sunday 24th September at Stoke Lane 2pm.

Carlton meanwhile have no game next Saturday but manager Wayne Scott is hoping to organise a friendly at some point during the next 2 weeks.
