THE VINNIE BERRINGON REPORT!

Wayne Scott has praised his side following their “positive reaction” to their FA Cup exit after picking up four points from two games over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Millers failed to make it past the preliminary round of the FA Cup, with Boston Town upsetting the odds, pulling off a well-deserved 3-2 victory, and Carlton have responded well, beating Romulus 3-1 before travelling to Lincoln and clinching a late draw with 10-men.

“We spoke to the players after the cup and asked for a reaction and we got it - a 3-1 win,” said manager Scott.

“Even though it was a late victory, it was a fair reflection of the game. We deserved that.”

“Were pleased with how we are starting games, but we need to finish our chances and be more ruthless. Against Romulus, we could have been two, maybe three-nil up very early in the game.”

Carlton have clinched points in the dying moments in their past two fixtures, with striker Kyle Stovell rescuing his side with two late goals in both games, as well as new arrival Wilfried Gnahore adding to the scoresheet against Romulus in the final moment of the match.

The Millers brought a resounding travelling crowd to Ashby Avenue on Bank Holiday Monday, with a total attendance of 139, and Scott insisted the supporters played a huge role in the performance.

“It was like a fortress at Lincoln - the fans became our 11th man when we went down to ten.”

“It shows the club is in a good place. Theres positivity around the place and everyone is looking forward to our next home game.”

Carlton will now face Bedworth at home this Saturday before once again travelling away to face Newcastle Town, a side who the Millers have beaten just four times in fifteen meetings, yet Scott admits Bedworth will be challenging despite sitting in 13th in the league.

“Bedworth will be big, strong and organised - a tough game.”

“Another victory at home would not only give us a huge three points but a big psychological advantage.”

He added: “Sitting with ten points heading into Newcastle on Tuesday would be something that we can build on as a side.”
