STEGGLES IMPRESSED AHEAD OF NEW SEASON!

Carlton Town committee man Mark Steggles says the team look in decent shape ahead of the new season.

"We controlled the first half and took a deserved 2 goal lead with a good stooping header from Kieran Walker and a storming volley from Danny Elliot and in the second half we had some defending to do restricting them to one goal to win 2-1, so it was a good test and we look in good shape, I have been impressed with the new signings and we have competition all over the pitch which is a good thing" said Steggles.

Commercial manager Brian Dennett summed his feelings which mirrored those of Steggles praising Carltons passing game in the 1st half and the two goals while Millers player Danny Elliot told us.

"It was a good test against a really good side and Jack had to be at his best with some really good saves it the second half, but there is a real competition for starting places now and we will all have to be on it"

BBC TV reporter and Millers supporter Andrew James was good enough to sponsor the matchball for the clash and become the latest to sponsor a player when he supported Daniel Fletcher.

Carlton still do not know who they are playing in the Fa Cup because Boston Town and Radford drew 2-2 and will now replay at Radford Fc, with the Millers visiting the winners from that game on Saturday 18th August.
