CARLTON LEGEND DICKO IN THE HOUSE AS CARLTON BEAT YOUNG STAGS!

Promotion Confirmed

GORMAN AND HOOTON ON THE MONEY FOR MILLERS!

Carlton Town manager Wayne Scott fielded a strong side as a young Mansfield Town X1 visited Stoke Lane on a love summers evening.

The Millers were massively grateful to Paul Judge and Air It for sponsoring the game and they brought along Millers legend Mark Dickinson, recently voted the clubs greatest ever player to present the "Man of the match Award"

Danny Elliot was the stand out player on the night in a performance that will have pleased Manager Wayne Scott.

Carlton controlled large parts of the game with Mansfield dangerous on the break but Jack Steggles was outstanding when called up on to deal with the threat of former Miller Jason Law and his Stags team mates.

A header from Lawrence Gorman and an opportunist goal from substitute Aaron Hooton gave Carlton a 2-0 win and the club are grateful indeed to Mansfield Town for sending a side and to Stags Stadium manager Paul Broughton for penning an article for the Matchday programme.

The excellent programme got much praise from supporters and Millers Chairman Mick Garton made a point of going over and praising editor Daniel Lord who was in the crowd.

The Millers are back in action on Saturday when Notts County will be sending a side (12.30pm) and they have also today announced on Twitter an extra friendly with a visit to Dunkirk on Monday night (31st July 7.45pm).
