Carlton Town enjoyed another sensational day out at Southwell Racecourse with around 350 attending in support of The Millers and once again everyone baked in glorious sunshine at the Family fun day.

Carlton have just completed the signing of Darol Lucas who has joined the club from Osett Town who he helped to to the Evostick Division One North playoffs final last season before they went down 4-2 to Farsley Celtic.

Lucas can play at the back or in midfield and Manager Wayne Scott believes he will be a real asset for the club as they attempt to compete in the top half of the table next season.

Lucas is pictured with fellow Carlton players Danny Elliot and Jake Carlisle at Southwell Races in what proved to be a very special Sunday afternoon for the club.

Former managers Tommy Brookbanks and Les Mcjannet were both in attendance along with former Millers Captain Matt Varley and current manager Wayne Scott along with players, supporters, committee members and coaching staff for what was a wonderful day!

The club is grateful to their friends at both Southwell Racecourse and Nottingham City Transport for making the day possible and Millers Chairman Mick Garton made a point of thanking Anthony Carver Smith at Nottingham City Transport for getting behind this fantastic community club event.

There was a decent crowd at Castle Rock Pub The Willowbrook for full  English Breakfast and in some cases a couple of pints as well, particularly after the JB Tours coach broke down and everyone had to wait for a replacement.

Those on the coach just missed the first race but commitee man Greg Last had saved some seats near the winning post, perfect to benefit from the stunning afternoon sunshine.

The club welcomes Darol Lucas and thanks everyone for their wonderful support!
