Carlton Town Press Officer Josh Hodgson was on good form has the doors opened to The Carlton Town Real Ale, Cider and Sausage Festival showing off his new Steven Segal style ponytail on Friday night.

Millers Centre half Lawrence Gorman fresh from signing his new contract, who normally Sports a ponytail turned up without one and there was some gentle banter between the two.

Gorman and his family were among a whole host of Millers supporters, Real Ale fans and Millers Commitee members supporting the event.

Mark Steggles and Supporter Dave Perrin were the first to arrive closely followed by the ponytailed Hodgson and Millers Chairman Mick Garton.

There was a steady flow of people coming in and out with the BBQ closing at 10pm with people loving the Sausage selection from Clive Lancaster and Castle Rock and the new Castle Rock burgers.

Real Ale expert Dave Parsons was on hand with advice and Pete from Castle Rock popped in after a hard day at the Brewery for a relaxing late drink.

Last years favourite Ale Punch in the face was back in the house and going down a treat, but there was much positive feedback about the two choices from Blue Monkey PG Sips and infinity and Castle Rocks new Stuart Broad offering and their new Session IPA also went down extremely well and for those wanting a darker choice, Sherwood Reserve proved popular.

On the Cider front, Lilleys Mango got fantastic feedback but former MSR player Dick and his crew were enjoying Hogfathers Rocket fuel, bless you!

The showing of the T20 Cricket International kept a good number of Millers supporters, young and old happy before "Segal" span a few tunes.

The Festival continues today with the Tommy Brookbanks class of 96/10 reunion event with a few Millers legends set to return to Stoke Lane.
