BIG LOCAL DERBY FOR FINAL FRIENDLY!

Promotion Confirmed

SUPPORT COMING IN FOR BEER FESTIVAL / TROKE MOVES ON!

Despite it being pre season, news continues to come from Stoke Lane and Millers Manager Wayne Scott has confirmed a final home friendly before the season starts on Saturday 5th August and a cracker it promises to be.

Carlton will host Evostick Premier League Derbyshire neighbours Mickleover Sports with a 1pm kick off and it is a game Scott is already looking forward to.

Coalville Town and Radford Fc get things underway for Wayne Scotts Millers before a trip to Hucknall Town and then the standard rises somewhat with both Mansfield Town and Notts County sending teams to Stoke Lane at the end of July.

With the Beer Festival only a week and a half away, donations have been coming in to help pay for the beer and Local Mp Vernon Coaker, manager Wayne Scott and secretary Paul Shelton along with a number of supporters have been in touch over the weekend to pledge donations.

The cost to support a barrel of beer and help this latest Millers fund raiser is just £25 each and people willing to get involved should contact the Chairman.

Manager Wayne Scott has been putting together his squad together for the new season but one player who has moved on is Alex Troke who has joined Shepshed Dynamos.

Troke joined The Millers at the end of last season after spells on loan from Coalville Town and helped Carlton to win the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup, playing a key part in the final despite failing to reach the heights in terms of general form that he had shown in his previous excellent spell with The Millers.

"The club wish Alex all the very best for the future" said Chairman Mick Garton.
