ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET AND MELLORS-BLAIR WINNER!

Carlton Town supporter Carl Steggles praised the Millers performance both on and off the pitch at the end of a very satisfying week for the club.

Carl saw his son Jack make 2 or 3 fine saves in the Millers goal but praised the whole team for their performance in a tight encounter at Sheffield FC.

"There were around 15 of us that went down on the train, we had a cracking afternoon although Alan still needs to improve on that trumpet, the supporters really got behind the team and there was lots of excellent banter and the players to a man were a credit to the club"

"I was particularly impressed with our midfield with Eddie having an influential game and I was pleased to see Matt Newton keep his place and put in another good shift after coming in for Tuesdays 1-0 win over Stocksbridge, he has took his chance well! , the team battled so hard for each other and that is really good to see" Steggles told us.

William Mellors-Blair (pictured) produced an excellent moment of quality early in the second half to seal the points for Carlton after a long throw from Danny Gordon.

Carlton have made major strides towards safety this week with 7 points from the 9 up for grabs in the last 8 days, but still remain 19th after teams around them also chalked up victories.

Carlton are back in action next Saturday when they make the trip to Northwich Victoria who saw their relegation battle with Loughborough Dynamos postponed today.
