MILLERS TO TAKE ON BASFORD AT MEADOW LANE!

Wayne Scott became only the second manager in Carltons 113 year history to lead the team to the final of the Notts Senior Cup this evening with a battling 2-0 win against Teversal FC at Stoke Lane.

Les Mcjannet who was in the crowd, led the team to 3 finals in his 5 year tenure, winning 2 and losing 1 but Carlton will face a tough test in the final when they play high flying neighbours Basford United.

It was recently announced by the Notts FA that the final this year will be at Meadow Lane on Tuesday 2nd May and Carlton will be delighted to be in the final after overcoming a plucky Teversal team who gave everything for their manager on a difficult pitch.

The quality and energy of Danny Gordon (pictured) and Danny Elliot were key for Carlton and Gordon received the Sponsors Milk Tray man of the match award while Elliot won the vote for the supporters man of the match.

The excellent Niall Davey won Carlton a first half penalty and an unfortunate own goal from a Gordon corner gave Carlton their second the other side of half time.

Teversal had their moments but Gorman marshalled the Millers back line well and Carlton goalkeeper Jack Steggles dealt well with what ever came his way.

Notts Non league TV were at the game and details of highlights will be posted on our Twitter account in due course!
