Carlton Committee man Bob Sharp paid tribute to the management and players for their response to last weeks heavy home defeat against top of the table Shaw Lane Aquaforce.

The Millers pulled off a superb 2-0 away win at Kidsgrove in Evostick Division One South with goals from the returning Josh Rae and Jordan Wilson, Rae (pictured) missed the Shaw Lane clash through illness but was returned to the starting line up by manager Wayne Scott and was nominated man of the match by Kidsgrove reporter Ian Cooper in his non league paper report.

Cooper admitted Carlton had been in control of the game and Sharp agreed claiming the clean sheet to be just has important as the two goals.

"The defence did really well to keep Malbon quiet, he has punished us quite a bit in the past but credit to the whole team for working hard and closing down well , it was the perfect response to last weeks defeat and reflected well on everybody involved in helping get that result"

"We had a goal disallowed as well, it was really pleasing and to be fair a number of players could have been given man of the match, the centre backs in particular were excellent and Jack Steggles made a wonderful save late on" said a happy Sharp.

The Millers now have a tough run of home games on the bounce with second place Spalding the visitors to Stoke Lane this Tuesday, before Stamford visit next Saturday the 11th before the Semi Final of the Notts Senior Cup on Wednesday 15th February v Teversal and the rearranged game with 7th placed Leek Town on Saturday 18th February.
