CONTROVERSY REIGNS AT WITTON !

Promotion Confirmed

MATCH ABANDONED AND WILSON DENIED BY WHISTLE!

Carlton Town will have to make the long trip to Witton Albion again after the referee abandoned the match on 70 minutes due to heavy fog.

Carlton Town commercial manager Brian Dennett thought that was the right decision but many home supporters including home match reporter Andy Simpson writing in the Non League Paper had a different view stating that both goals and touchlines were visible from the centre circle.

One decision that Carlton were most unhappy with was the one made on the stroke of half time.

Jordan Wilson hit a rasping drive into the net but just before the ball crossed the line, the referee blew for half time, a point also made in fairness by Simpson in his report.

Witton had the better of the play and were clearly after avenging their defeat earlier in the season at Stoke Lane, but the Millers defended bravely and the teams were only separated by a goal from Brad Bauress on 55 minutes.

Carlton completed the signing of defender Jack Carlisle (pictured) from Gresley prior to the fixture and manager Wayne Scott was also pleased to have Callum Keane back in the squad after injury.

Carlton will be holding their Christmas draw on Monday evening with special guest John Mcgovern and all are welcome in the Clubhouse Sportsbar from 6.30pm.

All tickets stubs and money should be brought in please before the 7.30pm draw, free mince pies will be available foe everyone attending!
