FIVE GAMES UNBEATEN AND SIX GOALS FOR MILLERS!

HOOTON AND GORDON BRACES SEAL CUP WIN!

Carlton Town made it 5 games unbeaten with a comprehensive win over Eastwood Community FC in the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup this evening.

Carlton travelled to Eastwood on the back of improving form which has seen them win one and draw 3 of the last 4 games and they were able to maintain that despite a poor start to the game.

It is fair to say that Eastwood could have been 2 goals up in the first 10 minutes but for a fine save from Jack Steggles and the woodwork as Carltons defence went missing and they conceded early possession in midfield and up front.

It took a superb free kick from man of the match Danny Gordon (pictured) to calm nerves, but once Carlton had settled into the game and got their passing game going, there was only going to be one winner!

Hooton and Gordon both scored braces and further goals from Substitute Wilson and the ever impressive Mellors-Blair ensured Carlton moved comfortably into the next round.

It was the first Millers visit to Eastwood since the redevelopment and the facilities were impressive indeed and Eastwood is clearly a club back on the up!

The 6-0 victory is another step in the right direction for Wayne Scott and his players however and the manager will be hoping for more of the same when Chasetown visit Stoke Lane on Saturday.

Carlton press officer Josh Hodgson spoke with defender Lawrence Gorman after the win and his interview will be on Millers Radio in due course!
