MILLERS APPRECIATE RECENT GESTURES BY SUPPORTERS!

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton has thanked fans for the amazing support the club has had in recent weeks, despite struggling towards the bottom of the table.

For the FA Trophy game, supporter Dean Gripton celebrated his 50th birthday at the Bill Stokeld Stadium and brought along many friends, sponsoring the game and staying late into the evening.

Last week against Northwich Victoria, three supporters including School partnership liaison officer Julian Wilson sponsored the match ball and another supporter Dan Thorpe celebrated the birth of his daughter during the same game bringing with him around 35 mates to support the club.

This weekend, Supporters club chief Alan Murphy brought back the popular trumpet and played it with a passion and was joined in the George and Dragon by other supporters and club officials, some pictured above on the official Beano outside the said watering hole.

There have been donations from supporters throughout the season for the Defibrillator fund and other donations and fantastic support for the new members 200 club draw where 180 envelopes were sold and 768 people attended the recent Firework Extravaganza.

This week sees the annual Christmas luncheon and all 90 tickets for Fridays event with Nottingham Forest legend John Robertson have been sold.

Chairman Mick Garton told us " I know our fan base compared with other clubs is small indeed, but the supporters we do have are fantastic and they have shown that in recent weeks, really getting behind the club during what has been a difficult period"

"I know Wayne and the players really appreciate the support and it does make a difference and I hope we can give them something to smile about in the coming weeks, it is certainly moving in the right direction but we know it is a marathon and not a sprint and like we try not get too down when we lose, we will not get to excited now things are improving, it is a long haul and I am sure there will be more twists and turns to come, but I really wanted to give this interview to the website to thank the supporters for not only sticking with us, but going above and beyond and to each and every one of you, it really is very much appreciated by us all!" Said the Millers Chairman.
