Promotion Confirmed

Carlton Town are delighted to report that recently returned striker Arron Hooton has committed himself to the Millers for the remainder of the season by signing a contract, after rejecting a 7 day approach from an Evostick Premier League club following his excellent impact on his return to the club.

Hooton has already scored 3 goals in 5 games since he rejoined the club and has received praise from supporters for his general hold up play and all round contribution.

The club meanwhile have had to call police in for the second time this season after fireworks were thrown during the game v Northwich Victoria.

One landed near the touch line and 2 others which were seen thrown from the car park landed behind the Corporate Suite.

President Roger Smith took personal charge of the situation and is currently putting together what information he can gather for the police.

The club have never had incidents of this nature before until this season, although the first incident earlier in the campaign involving flares was down to away fans, this was not believed to be the case on this occasion, although the individuals believed to be involved are not known has Carlton Town fans either, by any of the clubs regular supporters that Smith or Chairman Mick Garton have spoken to, so it is somewhat of a mystery to the club.

It is a truly serious matter however and indeed carries a prison sentence and Smith is working with Nottinghamshire Police to try and get to the bottom of it!
