Promotion Confirmed

ELLIOT AND SMITHSON BACK HOME TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

A first half brace from Niall Davey was the difference in an entertaining game at Stoke Lane which saw the Millers progress into the next round of the FA Trophy.

Danny Elliot returned to the Millers side after a broken leg and time away visiting countries afar and after impressing in training, manager Wayne Scott decided to start with the central midfielder and moved Club captain Romaine Graham upfront with Callum Keane coming in at centre half.

New signing Luke Smithson came off the bench to create the all important 3rd goal which was scored by Jake Wooley and The Millers will face Southern Premier league side St Ives in the next round on Saturday 29th October at Stoke Lane.

Niall Davey however was definitely the star of the show with an high octane performance which resulted in him scoring 2 and terrifying the Chasetown defence in the first half with some fantastic runs both in the channels and down the middle.

Chasetown in fairness had been the better team early on and Carlton had to thank Jack Steggles for a great early save and defenders Callum Keane and Lawrence Gorman for great last ditch challenges to keep the score at 0-0 during the early exchanges.

Daveys double changed the tone of the contest and he received the man of the match award from sponsors Mars,Carlton press officer Josh Hodgson was on the ball after the Millers win and interviews with both Davey and the returning Danny Elliot will be on line shortly!
