Promotion Confirmed

Carlton Town have had 3 Managers in 21 years and all 3 of them came together to support the Millers "Day at the Races" in fantastic sunshine once again at Southwell Racecourse in what proved another memorable day out with Millers past and present in attendance.

Former legends, Ian White and Steve Chaplin, former club captain Matt Varley, Current club captain Romaine Graham, Goalkeeper Jack Steggles, defender Daniel Fletcher and exciting young attacker Niall Davey joined other players past and present, supporters, coaching staff, committee and sponsors for the clubs 4th event at the racecourse.

It was perhaps the site of former managers Tommy Brookbanks and Les Mcjannet stood at the entrance to the main arena chatting away with current manager Wayne Scott that best summed up the family club that Carlton Town is and Millers photographer Lou Lardi was on hand to capture the 3 of them together.

Both former manager had sold tickets in support of the event although both admitted they had dissapointing days on the betting front and were down while Wayne Scott was very much up on the day.

President Roger Smith, First team coach Darren Davis, Deputy Commercial manager Gaz Bee and new Press officer Josh Hodgson were other winners on the day.

Paddington Bear was a hit with all the kids and the excellent service and facilities provided by the racecourse were appreciated by all.

The club once again were grateful to Nottingham City Transport for their sponsorship of the event and for their excellent partnership with Castle Rock which meant a coach calling at 3 Castle Rock pubs where Race goers enjoyed a Full English breakfast and in some cases an early doors before embarking on the Race day trip, another one that will long be remembered for all the right reasons!

Lou Lardis excellent photos will be on the supporters website in the coming days!
