Promotion Confirmed

Carlton Town gave a fine account of themselves in their first pre season friendly against Mansfield Town before going down 4-3 in front of 363 at Stoke Lane.

Carlton allowed free entry to everyone attending before 2.30pm due to the Beer, Cider and Sausage Festival at Stoke Lane and many locals and Stags fans took advantage and got on the beer early as the rain cleared after a Stormy morning.

The sausages continued to sell well with the final ones selling at 10pm as the superb Urban Riff completed their excellent set after starting slightly earlier than planned.

Goals for Curtis Millard, Jake Wholey and Lawrence Gorman , 3 players who all impressed for the Millers were in reply to a Matt Green Brace, an opener from Danny Rose and the almost inevitable winner from former Miller Jason Law (pictured) for the Stags.

New press officer Josh Hodgson was on the prowl and some excellent interviews with Niall Davie, Callum Keane and Festival goers including the wonderful dancing lady who attended the Festival throughout and brought the house down, will be on Millers Radio soon.

Notts County are next up for Wayne Scotts Millers and further details with regard to bar and catering arrangements for that game will appear on this website prior to the match.

Finaly a special mention for Julian Topliss who was back in a Millers shirt for the first time since the shocking assault he suffered some 3 years ago, he his hoping to prove he can still produce the goods at this level and everyone at Carlton is delighted to see him back warning the yellow and blue jersey.
