Promotion Confirmed

Wayne Scotts first presentation night as manager proved a huge success with a positive end to the season lifting moods and creating plenty of positivity at the club after they comfortably overcame the threat of relegation after a difficult first 4 months of the season.

Special guests on the night were Pete Smith and Phil James who had run The Monkey Tree pub for many years and who have sponsored a number of games this season and also contributed to travel costs for the superb league cup run.

They started off by drawing the raffle and winning numbers will be displayed on this website in the coming days, Wayne Scott himself won the TV but then auctioned it off to raise money for the club, a fine gesture indeed!

Dennis entered the arena playing his drums and singing along to huge applause from the Carlton players and started by giving Wayne a documented photo gallery of the season expertly prepared by Lou Lardi.

Awards were spread around and started with the Academy presentations with Darren Davis giving an excellent speech before presenting the managers player of the year to Tom Dudley and the Players Player to Anton Pryce.

Paul Shelton presented Bob Sharpe with a present following a collection between staff and committee following news of his retirement after many years service although Bob will remain on the committee and still be seen in and around the club.

New programme editor Daniel was acknowledged for massively improving the programme and presented with a signed Collin Barrett photo, the Forest legend of course attended a game recently.

The delighfull Claudior was on hand as Brian Dennett made it a hatrick of Clubmans awards while the Chairmans award went to Jack Steggles and the new presidents awards to Romaine Graham.

Managers player went to Kirean Walker and it was no surprise when Danny Gordon received the prestigious players award after his goal scoring exploits this season.

Danny made it a deserved double with the supporters award presented by the witty Alan Murphy, Jack Steggles came second and popular Josh Rae third.

Supporters goal of the season went to Daniel Fletcher with second place going to Jack Steggles who was certainly among the best things to have happened this season and he was one of many who were mentioned by Wayne in a comprehensive review of the season.

He closed by thanking all his staff, the ground staff and everyone for their support before signing off with a special presentation to Tom McConway who will sadly be leaving the club as he moves to America.

Tom was a very popular player and will be missed indeed !

Alex the DJ finally got chance to spin a few late tunes and the night was complete, a night Danny, Kieran Jack and many others will remember with fondness, another successful Millers presentation evening!
