Promotion Confirmed

Former Carlton Town Junior star and current Nottingham Forest under 21 captain Alex Lacovitti was the guest of sponsors Phil James and Pete Smith at Carlton Town as The Millers entertained Kidsgrove at Stoke Lane.

Lacovitti will not have been too impressed with what he saw as Carlton crashed 4-1 in what can only be descibed as a woeful display at both ends of the pitch.

Shocking defending and shocking finishing sums up the story of the night and if Carlton play as badly on Saturday when Tommy Brookbanks comes to town with his Coalville side already in the playoffs, then Carlton will get truly spanked!

In fairness, manager Wayne Scott can point to the fact he had 3 or 4 regulars missing but it was an unacceptable performance which left The Millers chief a frustated and animated figure on the touchline.

It tells its own story that substitute Niall Davie was given man of the match by the sponsors, when he was only on the pitch for a short time.

Millers Chairman Mick Garton is pictured welcoming Alex to Stoke Lane and Scott would have wished he could have given him a run out , Lacovitti who is also a Scottish under 19 international said he had enjoyed his visit and would be back, hopefully The Millers will put up a better showing next time!
