Wednesday 15th July 2015 is an evening that will live long in the memory for Jamie Walker after he scored the first goal to be conceded by Notts County this pre season in the 14th minute of this big friendly for The Millers at Stoke Lane.

The biggest celebratation for the club however will be the record gate of 912 ,the biggest crowd for Carlton Town in its 111 year history.

The extra bar capacity created was certainly appreciated by The Magpies supporters who could enjoy from a good selection of drinks including real ale options fom Castle Rock and Flipside brewery as well as their usual draught options. The weather was kind to The Millers to with a clear blue sky and sunshine which helped the club surpass last years gate of 589 for the same game.

There is a lot of positivety around The Magpies too after the disappointment of relegation, lots of new signings and a style of football which the supporters and players seem to be buying into.

For the record The Millers went down 4-1 with goals for Stead, Campbell, Silva and Burke and Scott Loach who is well known to all at Carlton after his charity matches at the ground in recent years, made his Notts debut after signing a 2 year deal earlier in the day for The Magpies.

Carlton gave a good account of themselves particularly in the first half and new manager Wayne Scott is known to be pleased with the way things are progressing.

The Millers are grateful to Ray and Aileen Trew and the management team and back room staff at Notts County for making this game happen for the 2nd year in a row and Jamie Walker, well he enjoyed his goal against a club he spent much time at as a youngster, hear his exclusive interview on Millers Radio.
