Promotion Confirmed

"Following the formal consultation with the management commitee for the postion of Carlton Town manager,i would like to comfirm my acceptance of the offer"

"I realise there have been only two previous managers in the past 19 years, namely Tommy Brookbanks and Les Mcjannet and that i will be following on from two respected and successful men who have shaped the club to date"

"As i am sure you are all aware,i would like to place on record my gratitude to les Mcjannet, firstly for giving me the oppurtunity to become his assistant earlier in the season, giving me a further insight into the management and mentality of players following on from being part of his backroom staff at the latter end of last season and secondly his support and recomendation to the chairman to follow on from his 5 year tenure"

"In addition to to this role this season, i have managed the under 21 development side which competes in the HKL development league and previously at Basford United, i carried out these dual roles attaining success with Daz Saunders and Andy Frawley"

"Having been offered first team managers postions in the past under different circumstances,it never felt quite right, it is also no secret that i have been offered postions outside of Carlton Town next season, but this oppurtunity felt quite right this time!"

"So it is now my opportunity to create a structure and culture within the football club that will develop players ability and mental attitude through education and intergration"

"It will be a "time of change"inevitably with the management team, backroom staff and movement of players, everyone staying and joining the club will need to embrace this and hopefully the Millers supporters"

News of Scotts appointment was welcomed by Carlton Towns under 16s manager John Kilcullen  "Thats great news, i feel Waynes enthuiasm to see the club progress from my lads age group up to the academy and on to the first team is important"

"There is great potential and as i represent carlton Town in a small part , i will as i have always done try and promote and attract good players , which over the last two seasons,i feel i have in achieving back to back promotios and getting the lads to see the bigger picture"

Carlton Town commitee man Mark Steggles pictured with Scott and club secretary Paul Shelton after last nights meeting said "On behalf of the commitee,i would like to welcome Wayne into his new role as first team manager , we want to create a family enviroment with the new set up and develop yougsters to take the club forward, our youth development stagnated somewhat in recent years,i believe Wayne as started the process of reversing that with the academy side and he can now take that to the next level as first team manager,we wish him all the best"concluded Steggles.

Chairman Mick Garton is also expected to make a statement in due course while Scott gets to work with his first job to appoint his backroom staff.
