CARLTON APPOINT NEW VICE CHAIRMAN !

Promotion Confirmed

DISAPOINTMENT ON THE PITCH WITH KEARNEY OFF BUT CARLTON PLAN AHEAD!

Championship chasing Mickleover Sports proved too good for Carlton Town and now look to have a wonderfull chance of claiming the title after a 3-0 win at Stoke Lane .

Carlton certainly have work to do if they are to get back to where they were 3 years ago when they came second in the league ,but help may be on the way after the club today announced the appointment of local solicitor Paul King as their new vice chairman.

King has been to all but two of Carltons home games this season and has contributed in a number of ways already this season ,including financially but at todays EGM , he was voted onto the clubs commitee as vice chairman and is already looking forward to next season to help transform the clubs fortunes.

The first priority for the club this season however is to avoid relegation and with Kidsgrove and Market Drayton winning again today, Carlton are nervously looking over their shoulder.

On another positive note Gaz Bee was also invited onto the clubs commitee following his efforts with the Pool Marathon and Christmas draw which saw him raise excellent amounts for the club commercially , amounts only bettered by Chairman Mick Garton and commercial manager Brian Dennett .

On the pitch, Carlton continue to struggle and Goalkeeper Martin Kearney (pictured) had a day to forget and although he will count himself unlucky to be sent off for an altercation In which he was as much the victim as the perpertrater , he was certainly at fault for the first Mickleover goal and despite one or two good saves , had a day to forget.

Carlton with new blood at the helm however will attempt once again to move forward and with Amy Troke also firing some good ideas into the melting pot, maybe better times lie ahead for The Millers?

For now ,they have lots of away games and have to avoid relegation but they will be hoping that todays appointments are a step in the right direction after a disappointing season.

Carlton Press officer James Morton caught up with new vice chairman  Paul King, manager Les Mcjannet and secured an in depth and exclusive interview with Chairman Mick Garton after the clubs annoucements and latest defeat.

All 3 interviews are now on Millers Radio !
