Thursday 18th December proved a memorable evening indeed for Carlton Town with their annual big Christmas draw hosted by Chairman Mick Garton and very special guest Nottingham Forest captain Chris Cohen. 

Their was Christmas music and mince pies in the house as the club completed their big week of fund raising following last Fridays Christmas luncheon with Notts County assistant manager Greg Abbott.

Players,management, committee and supporters and representatives from the Junior section joined club partners for the draw which featured over 50 prizes.

There was praise for Brian Dennett who did a fantastic job once again for the club and Cohen posed for photos, signed autographs and had time for everyone attending the event and he stayed throughout the 2 hour duration which included a Bonus Ball winning cheque presentation to academy chief Wayne Scott.

A full list of all unclaimed prizes will appear on this website in the coming days but in most cases Dennett has phone numbers and will be contacting all the winners shortly.

For the record ticket number 7835 won the ladies bike and this will need to be claimed as their were no contact details on the ticket.

Chris Rae, dad of midfielder Josh Rae won the superb cutlery set and Josh  can be seen collecting the prize on his dads behalf on the supporters club website.

Club captain Martin Balls dad Dennis also picked up a prize, a £50 voucher for The Stanhope Arms at Stanton.

The Carlton Town under 10s Blue sold the winning ticket for Forest hospitality for 2 with chairman Mick Garton, who also won a prize for the first time this year.

Supporters club photographer Lou Lardi was also in the prizes winning a £50 voucher at one of the clubs sponsors" Amores Restaurant" in Gedling and his full set of superb photographs from the evening are now available to view on the supporters clubs website along with the one of Chris Cohen and Josh.

Carlton Chairman Mick Garton had Particular praise for Chris Cohen, " He was an absolute pleasure to work with and was a great ambassador for Nottingham Forest Football Club and I cannot speak highly enough of his fantastic contribution to the evening , he did everything asked of him with a smile on his face and a lot of people particularly the kids that attended went home very happy " said the Carlton chief.

"He came back in to see me after he had spoken to Millers Radio and said he will make a  donation in the new year to help the club raise some more money, he was top draw,absolutely top draw and I have phoned John McGovern at the club and thanked him and Forest for doing this for us, following on from what Notts County and Greg Abbott have done ,it is brilliant that the big clubs are prepared to help the smaller ones like ourselves " concluded the Chairman.
