Promotion Confirmed

Carlton Town chairman Mick Garton paid tribute to the clubs committee for the way they had pulled together to make "Chuck Day" a special day for his family and friends and indeed for the club.

"Brian Dennett , Mark Steggles  and Tim Bee worked hard to make the race night a success, Des produced a superb matchday programme in tribute of Chuck and everyone to a man did their bit in making the day special"

"We had an official attendance of 108 but when we opened the gates up in the second half to allow family and friends to come and pay their respects, there was over 150 in the ground and the players and management had read the script which was important too, because although Chucks death puts football results into perspective, we would not wanted to have lost the game, make no mistake about that"

" Thanks to all of you who sponsored races including the clubs Roger Smith, Wayne Scott, Brian Dennett and Chris Bailey and obviously Paul and myself did our bit by taking up the clubs two match day packages "

"It was great to see the likes of Jeppo and Pam,Grant Brindley ,Ian Spencer and Julia Stokeld back at the ground ,it really was and Shaun and Bob ensured everything looked spot on at the ground and was ready for the Sad but historic occasion,James after match interviews were spot on and he can interview Jamie Walker every game for me,that lad does make me smile and Chuck would have enjoyed those interviews,he really would, then we had a full clubhouse to make the race night a success with Chucks family there till the end"

"On the playing side,it is gradually coming together with 3 wins from the last 5 games and although there is still along way to go, we are certainly moving in the right direction and indeed I said that quite emphatically after Tuesdays 4-1 defeat"

"I would ask all who can to support the clubs night at the dogs on Friday 31st October ,myself and Brian both have tickets available at £6 each and to snap up the remaining tickets for the Christmas luncheon on Friday 12th December with Greg Abbott"

"Finances are still very tight down here, we have lost  some key income streams in recent times and Brian in particular is working his socks off to bring money in ,we do need everyones help going forward and we do appreciate all the Matchball sponsors who have come forward this season so far"

"I can also comfirm we will be announcing details of Bill Stokelds 10 year anniversary tribute game in the coming days and the launch of our 3rd Annual Christmas draw with some top prizes coming into the club at the moment"

A busy time indeed then for the Carlton Town chairman and committee ahead of more big games and the festive season.
