MILLERS RETAIN THE SENIOR CUP!

Promotion Confirmed

SIX STAR CARLTON TOO HOT FOR RAINWORTH !

Carlton Town came from a goal down to smash six goals past Rainworth Miners Welfare to retain the trophy they had won at Eastwood Town when they beat Sutton 12 months ago.

The Millers finally ran out 6-2 winners after putting in a superb performance against their Mansfield neighbours, with 2 goals each for Aaron Hooton and Anton Robinson and a vital equaliser scored by Sam Mcvicar in his final game for the club,Danny Elliot also chipped in with in a goal as the rampant Millers ran riot in the 2nd half.

The millers had only one substitute due to a crippling injury list, suspensions and cup tied players but in adversity again like at Stamford earlier this year, the 12 players available responded in the most positive style.

Credit must go to Carltons management team for their attacking tactics playing a 3-4-3 formation and throwing caution to the wind.

Interviews with outstanding captain on the night Alex Troke, Man of the match Aaron Hooton,Goalkeeper Johnathon Viscosi ,manager Les Mcjannet and Chairman Mick Garton are all now on Millers a Radio along with an interesting pre match interview with Martin Ball and photographs from John Sumpter will also be displayed in the coming days.

Millers radio will catch up with more Carlton stars at next weeks presentation night including Grant Brindley and hopefully also Iain Mcculoch who is never short of a true word.
